Why Concerned Women PAC Endorses:

The Witchita Eagle quoted Senator Dick Kelsey saying, “the Kansas values that I talk about are these values of hard work, entrepreneurships, family values, pro-life."   These are the same values that Concerned Women PAC fights for every day, which is why Concerned Women PAC, endorsed Senator Kelsey early.  The senator is endorsed by the Kansas Coalition for Life, Kansans for Truth in Politics, and Governor Mike Huckabee

Former Governor Mike Huckabee also endorsed Senator Kelsey because of his strong stand on the issues.  “Dick believes that as a society we must protect life from conception to its natural conclusion. Dick believes in Limited Government and a Strong National Defense. Senator Kelsey also knows that hard work and small businesses are the backbone of our economy and that when we keep taxes low, we encourage them to flourish” (view the full Press Release).

Senator Kelsey is not only endorsed by the former governor, but also the Kansas Coalition for Life and Kansans for Truth in Politics

Senator Dick Kelsey has served in the Kansas State Legislature since 2004, first in the Kansas House until 2008, and then in the state Senate. He was elected to Majority Caucus Chairman after his first term.   The 4th district Congressional seat became open when Representative Todd Tiahrt announced he would run for the Open Kansas Senate seat.

Senator Dick Kelsey stands for true conservative values:  growing business by limiting government, protecting the family and the unborn.  In 2005, Kansans for Life gave then representative, a 100 percent rating for pro-life legislative record.

In 2006, Sen. Kelsey sponsored The Teen Protection Act which would prohibit a predator from attempting to force a victim to have an abortion to cover up the rape.  In Senator Kelsey’s first year of office, he worked to pass a state marriage amendment in Kansas.  During his time in the state legislature, Senator Kelsey was known as a pro-life leader amongst his peers. Concerned Women PAC proudly endorses Senator Dick Kelsey because of his experience as a conservative, pro-life, pro-family legislator.  He is the only candidate in this race with a proven record on family issues

2010 Race Outlook

The 2010 Primary season kicked off early this year in Kansas when Senator Sam Brownback announced he would retire at the end of 2010 to run for Governor.    Current Congressman Todd Tiahrt and Concerned Women PAC Endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate, Todd Tiahrt  announced that he would run for the open Senate seat in 2010.

State Senator Dick Kelsey is the only candidate in this race who has casted a legislative vote.  He has also proven himself over the years to be a solid leader on pro-life and pro-family issues.  In addition to that, Sen. Kelsey has an outstanding record on business issues as well which makes him a solid across the board conservative.

Because the district is solid Republican, whoever wins the Primary in August will more than likely be the next Congressman from the fourth district in Kansas.  Currently there is only one other candidate running in the primary. Please stand with Concerned Women Political Action Committee by supporting State Senator Dick Kelsey’s campaign for Congress
